The Knockout Cup has been an ever-present competition in the history of the Aylesbury Invitation Pool League since it was first won by Aylesbury Ex-Service-men's 'A' in 1977 - 1978.
All teams across all AIPL active leagues for the season are entered into this competition without any seeding and the final is rotated around the venues.
In the last 15 years, 5 teams have won this competition alongside the Premier to complete the double. Most recently, Shoot Vetz accomplished this in 2012 - 2013 to join Britannia 'A' in 2006 - 2007, Lantern "A" in 2005 - 2006, Duck Veterans in 2002 - 2003 and John Kennedy A who achieved the double for 3 years running in 1998 - 1999, 1999 - 2000 and 2000 - 2001.
The now defunct Shootpool 'B' were the last team to win this competition from outside the top flight winning in 2010 - 2011, when they also were crowned Division 1 champions.
The Vic have won the last three successive seasons, completing a rare hat-trick sequence of trophies wins to match the John Kennedy A team who won three years in a row in 1998 - 1999, 1999 - 2000 and 2000 - 2001.
