AIPL KNOCKOUT CUP

In the Knock Out Cup, there were big wins for the favourites, as well as a final frame shootout between two Premier sides.

The tie of the round saw Premier side The Roths edge past divisional rivals The Brickslayers in a final frame decider. After trailing 2-1, The Roths went 4-2 up, before squandering that lead to set up the 9th frame shootout, which Stuart Ladyman won for The Roths.

Elsewhere, reigning Knock Out Cup champions The Rothschild Arms and 4-time champions New Zealand "B" both went through without dropping a frame, beating Division 1 sides We Love A Double and Kennedy GC 5-0 respectively.

Two more Premier sides made simple passage through to the Quarter Finals, as Shootpool Sharks won 5-1 against Division 1 The Vic Club, and The Arigators beat Division 1 side Shootpool Blues 5-1 as well.

The only non-Premier side through is Honey Bee Stingerz, after they came back from 1-0 down early on to win 5-1 against Division 2 side Cotton Eyed Joes.

The six teams above will be joined in the Quarter Final draw by AIPL Premier sides Shootpool 'A' and SP Blacks, who both received a bye through Round 1.

This week's Knock Out Cup Results: We Love A Double 0-5 The Rothschild Arms, Shootpool Sharks 5-1 The Vic Club, Kennedy GC 0-5 New Zealand "B", Cotton Eyed Joes 1-5 Honey Bee Stingerz, The Roths 5-4 The Brickslayers and The Arigators 5-1 Shootpool Blues
